CPFF Warriors of Hope – Calgary Ironman

The CPFF Warriors of Hope are composed of 10 members from the Queen’s University triathlon team, which is a student-led varsity club associated with the university in Kingston, ON. The team trains and competes in triathlons throughout the winter semester.
Normally, each athlete has many events lined up for the summer. This year, the team is excited to collaborate with CPFF for one of the largest events of the summer — the Toronto Triathlon Festival (TTF). Andres Moran-Macdonald will complete the Ironman in Calgary on July 30th.
This Ironman event is a half-length triathlon, composed of 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of biking, and 21.1 km of running, all in one day. The event is on July 31st, starting at 6 am MST.
The team have collaborated with CPFF to help raise money and awareness for the awful disease that is PF, drawing attention to how healthy lungs can do so much and how often we take them for granted.
It’s the team’s hope that by calling attention to pulmonary fibrosis, one day anyone who has it can do anything they want — whether that is taking a walk or running a triathlon.
