Each year, the CPFF Research Program funds two, $90,000/year Robert Davidson Fellowships and two, $20,000 Research Grants.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, one-time grants from sponsors Boehringer Ingelheim and Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., enabled CPFF to fund two additional fellowships. CPFF gratefully acknowledges these extraordinary contributions to PF research in Canada.

Due to the pandemic, the awarding of the Research Grants will be delayed until October of 2020.

As of December 2020, CPFF has invested more than $1.4 million in 37 research projects and fellowships, thanks to the contributions of numerous sponsors and donors. This is a significant accomplishment for an organization that was established in 2009.

CPFF’s Medical Advisory Board (MAB), established in 2017, examines grant requests received from the research community and determines the recipients. They perform this service for CPFF as volunteers. This group is comprised of eight of Canada’s most highly respected respirologists, pulmonary fibrosis specialists and researchers and helps ensure your donations for research are allocated wisely.
