Dr. Shane Shapera, Respirologist
Dr. Shane Shapera is an Associate Professor and Clinician Educator in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is the Director of the Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) Program at Toronto General Hospital, which is part of the University Health Network (UHN). He also works with the Toronto Lung Transplant Program, providing pre-lung transplant assessments for patients with interstitial lung disease.
Dr. Shapera has expertise in various aspects of ILD, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), systemic scleroderma interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD), and myositis-associated lung disease. He has contributed to ILD research and care in Canada, supported by the CPFF Robert Davidson Fellowship Program, and has delivered numerous educational webinars on ILD-related topics.
