Early pulmonary fibrosis detection is vital

Pulmonary fibrosis is not top of mind for most family practitioners and early symptoms often resemble those of other conditions. Because it cannot be reversed, early detection is critical. Treatments work best when started sooner, before the disease becomes severe.

Connective Tissue Diseases can increase PF risk

Know the PF signs and act early

Many Canadians with connective tissue diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, myositis, lupus, and scleroderma, may be at risk of developing pulmonary fibrosis. Risk varies by condition, but early lung changes matter. Once PF causes scarring, it cannot be reversed.

Our Impact

Early detection can change lives and awareness is the first step.

Through national advocacy, education, and patient voices, CPFF is making a difference.

By shining a light on lung crackles and early symptoms, we’re working to reduce diagnostic delays but more awareness is needed. We need your voice to help spread the word.
