The Genetics of PF - Dr. Richard Allen

Dr. Richard Allen will discuss the genetics of PF in this webinar. He will introduce genetics and how generic variations can lead to disease, discuss the genetic changes associated with IPF and other forms of PF, and explore the implications for new treatments and for familial PF patients. His talk will draw on his research funded by Action for PF, UNK. The presentation is aimed at patients and their families, although health care professionals may also find it interesting.

Dr. Allen is a lecturer in statistical genetics at the University of Leicester. His research focuses on the genetics of pulmonary fibrosis through large-scale statistical analyses. He studied a Mathematics and Statistics BSc at the University of York and Medical Statistics MSc at the University of Leicester. Following his PhD, he was awarded the Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis Mike Bray Research Fellowship to investigate the genetics of progressive pulmonary fibrosis.
