In Memory of Rob Garbutt
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rob Garbutt on February 4, 2023, with his family at his bedside.
Rob GarbuttĀ of Winnipeg, Manitoba lived with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) for a remarkable 12 years, before receiving a lung transplant last year. Rob was an avid athlete who didn’t let IPF slow him down. He was determined to continue his love of outdoor sports. As the disease progressed over the years he figured out ways to accommodate so he could still be active. He bought a recumbent trike, hooked up his POC (portable oxygen concentrator) to the back, and off he rode with his best friend Maggie leading the way.
Rob had a unique determination that inspired hope in the CPFF community. You can watch his story here.
